Lawrence quarterback Joey Capobianco threw for three touchdowns and ran for one in a 55-7 win over Manhasset.
On a gray Saturday afternoon Lawrence quarterback Joey Capobianco’s star shone brightest, tossing three touchdown passes to three different receivers and rushing for a touchdown of his own in a 55-7 rout of the Manhasset Indians. Tyler Fredericks rushed for two touchdowns of his own and also took an interception to the house. The Golden Tornadoes defense also harassed Manhasset quarterback Kevin Overlander into three interceptions.
Turnovers helped the Hewlett Bulldogs built up a 19-0 lead in the first half, but turnovers gave that lead right back as they lost 20-19 on the road against the Glen Cove Big Red. Glen Cove also did a great job shutting down quarterback Zach Richman in the second half after he had 171 total yards and three rushing touchdowns early on.
