Nashville stars Connie Britton (Friday Night Lights, American Horror Story), and Hayden Panetierre (Heroes) as country singers in different stages of their careers battling for supremacy in the country music landscape. Britton, playing Rayna James, is a fading legend and her handlers believe the best move for her career is to open up for a young, beautiful fresh face named Juliette Barnes, played by Panetierre. James does not want to open for someone she considers beneath her, while Barnes plans to tear James down and claim her spot in the country music pantheon.

Thursday, October 11th

Vice Presidential Debate: 9:00, CBS, NBC, ABC

Republican Vice Presidential candidate Paul Ryan will take on incumbent Vice President Joe Biden at Centre College in Danville, Kentucky in a debate focused on domestic policy. The debate will be broken up into nine ten-minute segments. Joe Biden is under scrutiny at this point in the race due to comments he made about the middle class being “buried” over the past four years.

Taken 2: (PG-13).

Liam Neeson reprises his role from Taken as Bryan Mills, a retired government agent with murderous capabilities and a fanatical devotion to protecting his family. In the first film, Mills’ daughter was kidnapped by sex traffickers in Paris, causing Mills to single-handedly tear down an entire Albanian criminal organization to retrieve her. This time, his ex-wife Lenore (Famke Janssen), is kidnapped by the employer of the Albanians he decimated in Paris. Once again, he must use his lethal training to protect his family.

Butter: (R).

Butter boasts an impressive cast, featuring Jennifer Garner, Hugh Jackman, Ashley Greene, Olivia Wilde, Alicia Silverstone, and Rob Corddry. It tells the story of an ambitious woman named Laura Pickler, the wife of an Iowa state-champion butter-carver who enters the competition after her husband is forced to retire and allow other people a shot at glory. When she realizes her competition is stiff, Pickler resorts to sabotage and help from an ex-boyfriend (Jackman) to win by any means necessary.
